The Energy Star Will Lead You To Savings

Last updated 4 years ago

By Greg, Pacific Aire Comfort Advisor,

With the recent focus on saving energy to create a green environment for our world, Energy Star-approved appliances are even more attractive than ever before. The high cost of electricity in the Ventura and Santa Barbara county areas presents a strong incentive for homeowners to find new ways to decrease their energy usage. Using energy-saving products approved by Energy Star in the home also reduces the emission of harmful pollutants and greenhouse gases.

While the average consumer may not want to immediately replace all of the appliances in the home, it is very cost effective to purchase Energy Star-rated appliances as replacements are needed. Your local and state governments may offer financial incentives for selecting such products, and utility companies also offer discounts and rebates. Even without rebates, consumers can realize significant savings as a result of using Energy Star-rated equipment.

The program is regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency, and requires that manufacturers show proof that their products have been tested to meet the strict requirements for cost and energy savings. The products must also meet such guidelines as:

  • Offer energy savings for homeowners across the nation.
  • Utilize in-demand features that boost system efficiency.
  • Deliver savings that help homeowners recoup their investment when the costs of such equipment are higher than non-approved products.
  • Higher efficiency equipment must be available widely through a variety of manufacturers.

Currently, there are many energy-efficient products available that are approved through this program, including air conditioners, nearly all large appliances, and even windows and doors. Homeowners in the Ventura and Santa Barbara county areas of California can find more information about the Energy Star program by contacting the local HVAC professionals at Pacific Aire Heating & Cooling
